Hi! I'm Krista, an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT) , owner of Lucky Paws Dog Training and Services LLC., and U.S Navy Veteran. I provide professional dog training for owners in Orange Park, Oakleaf, Middleburg, Fleming Island and surrounding Clay County communities.
My experience working with dogs spans more than eight years, with the past five years dedicated specifically to professional dog training, canine behavior, and continuing education. I earned my ABC Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT) credential through Animal Behavior College and have strengthened my skills through multiple mentorship programs with top trainers, and hands on work with dogs of different ages, breeds, temperaments, and behavioral needs.
As a mother of two children and owner of three dogs, I understand life can get busy and how difficult it can be to balance work, family commitments, school, travel, appointments, household responsibilities and the consistent care, enrichment and training dogs require. That is why I focus on practical, personalized dog training that fits into real life routines that differ amongst families and owners. My goal is to reduce everyday frustration with your dogs, help owners feel confident handling their dogs, and give people the skills they need to enjoy a calmer, safer, and more connected life with their dogs just as they dreamed of.
My Training Philosophy
At Lucky Paws Dog Training and Services LLC, my balanced dog training approach combines a positive reinforcement system, clear communication and established languages, consistency, structure that creates predictable routines and expectations, and fair boundaries to help dogs understand acceptable behavior and make better choices. Each program is personalized around the dog's temperament, social & learning history, behavioral needs, and most importantly the owner's lifestyle and goals.
I use classical conditioning to help dogs develop healthier associations with people, places, sounds and everyday life experiences. I pair that with operant conditioning which teaches dogs that their choices do have outcomes. I reinforce desired behaviors with food, praise, or whatever the specific dog finds rewarding, while also using clear guidance and fair pressure when appropriate. Together, these learning principles help dogs understand expectations, build confidence, make better choices, which allows the relationship between a dog and their handler, to flourish together.

Five private sessions for puppies and owners to build communication, learn crate and potty routines, leash foundations, confidence, socialization, basic obedience, recall, and household manners and boundries.
Each training plan is customized to your dog’s temperament, learning history, behavioral needs, and your lifestyle and goals.

A personalized, home-based training experience for puppies and adult dogs needing foundational obedience, better household manners, impulse control, and a more manageable everyday routine. Training may include sit, down, place, recall, loose-leash walking, engagement, settling, boundaries, polite greetings, crate routines, and working around distractions. Includes four private owner-coaching lessons plus a comprehensive turnover lesson. Optional $500 e-collar add-on (device +two sessions) available for qualifying dogs.

A structured three- or six-hour training experience designed to strengthen current skills, maintain previous training, and provide purposeful enrichment.
It is perfect for clients who want their dogs to receive extra practice, structured enrichment, and continued reinforcement while they are busy. Each camp experience is customized around the dog’s established training plan, current skills, and individual needs.
